Meet Phil.

Phil Pasena (he/him), LAC

Are you tired of anxiety and depression holding you from living your life?

Are you tired?

  • of feeling out of control and helpless?

  • of fears of the future getting in the way of completing life’s challenges?

  • of anxiety related to past experiences impacting your ability to cope?

  • of symptoms of depression affecting your ability to connect with others?

  • of not being able to connect and be vulnerable with others?

Are you ready to get your emotions and feelings under control?

Reaching out to a counselor can be the first step.  Imagine utilizing therapy to know how and when to ask for help.  Therapy can help you handle life’s challenges and allow stronger, healthier relationships.

My approach to therapy

When I’m working with teens, my approach to therapy focuses on the parent-child relationship.  With adults, the theories of attachment and child development inform my understanding of my client’s experience and identity.  Throughout my education at Prescott College and advanced training, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1, I have increased my understanding of trauma and the neurobiology of attachment.  I use person-centered and somatic-based methods to help my clients experience emotional safety, build trust, and connect compassionately with themselves and their families.  I focus on helping clients develop a mindful presence, allowing them to experience a greater awareness of themselves and to build healthier relationships with others.
